THE ARENA SWIM
Sprint Distance - 750m (30 lengths) | Tri it Distance - 400m (16 lengths)
The swim course will take place in the FootHills Pool (24st & University Dr). This is a 25m pool with 6 lanes. We will start 4 athletes per lane and you will complete the necessary lengths of the pool. Volunteers will be on hand to count your laps and will put a flutterboard in the water when you have 2 lengths remaining. You will be assigned a wave # and start time which will be posted on the website & package pick-up locations, as well as posted at the race start. Athletes are asked that if they are feeling any trouble or difficulty during the swim portion to either raise their hand and a lifeguard will be there to assist you within seconds. We would like to thank the staff at the FootHills Pool for their support of this event.
Sprint Distance - 18km (4 lap course) | Tri it Distance - 9km (2 laps)
The bike course will travel around the 4.5km loop within the University campus. We will have a portion of the road blocked off for this event, however please ensure that you watch for vehicle traffic and other athletes. This is a fun race, and we don't want anyone injured along the course.
Please keep in mind that the course will be open to vehicle traffic, and you are to treat this event as any other training ride and be very road wise while on the course. Vehicles will always have the right of way at intersections, and we will have volunteers to stop traffic when athletes are approaching, but remember you are responsible for your own safety while out on the course, and accidents can happen.
So please remember to look around you while on the course to foresee any unfortunate incidents that can occur. Remember to have fun on the course, and keep safety at the utmost priority.
Sprint Distance - 4.5km (4 laps) | Tri it Distance - 2.5km (2 laps)
The run course will travel from the transition area and consist of laps of the 1km course where an aid station will be located to replenish your fluids. You will be responsible to count your own laps on this run course, as we will not provide lap counters. There will be an aid station outside of the transition area with sport drink and water, as well as another aid station stocked similarly (so please come prepared if you are training on a different sports drink/food). Please be sure you drink lots of fluids on the bike course, as well as take advantage of the two aid stations on the run course for each lap. The weather can be unpredictable so please dress appropriately.
